Strategic response to Romania’s SAFE RFI reinforces local defence industry and European defence cooperation

Fabbrica d’Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A. has formally submitted its response to the Request for
Information (RFI) issued by the SAFE Technical Secretariat of the Romanian Government. The
submission outlines a comprehensive and forward-looking proposal to strengthen Romania’s
defence industrial capabilities while contributing to the broader resilience of the European
defence ecosystem.

This proposal offers a structured industrial model that combines advanced manufacturing,
technology transfer, and Romanian-based industrial implementation while remaining within the
European compliance frameworks and coordinated defence procurement initiatives.

A central focus of the proposal is a full-scale technology transfer programme, which is designed to
support the incorporation of manufacturing processes within Romania. The strategic initiative
aims to further strengthen local industrial expertise and technical capabilities, enhance
operational independence in defence production, foster collaboration with local industrial
partners, and support Romania’s national security objectives through long-term industrial
investments.
